Matching Character Rigs - Dress controls and IK/FK switch

I used Maya and the NGskinTools plugin to create a rig and control set for other animators to utilize. These rigs were built to develop character animations for a game starring Nadia and Katya: sisters with mystical abilities trying to survive a lonely and tense environment.

Both skeletons include controls for specific joints, as well as curve hierarchies that allow for easy animation of fine details. Because each character features a long skirt, there is an extra set of bones to precisely control the flow of the fabric. This can be toggled off to leave the influence of the clothes based on the motion of the legs. The FK/IK switch allows the animator to choose the best limb solving method for the situation.
